SITUATION

Everton is a popular village close to the coastal centres of both Milford on Sea and Lymington. Everton has its own excellent village shop and pub and has a strong sense of community. To the north lie the open spaces of the New Forest National Park offering countless cycle rides and foot paths. The village of Milford on Sea lies just to the south with safe swimming beaches, an extensive range of bars, restaurants, cafes and bakeries. There are excellent sailing facilities and The Gun Inn at Keyhaven.

The well known market town of Lymington lies just a few miles to the east and holds the famous Georgian Saturday market as well as offering a wider range of shops and restaurants on its picturesque high street. The town is home to two sailing clubs as well as deep water marinas making it the ideal base from which to explore The Solent and further afield.

THE PROPERTY

The front door opens into a useful entrance porch, leading through to a welcoming hallway. The spacious sitting room is flooded with natural light, thanks to a large curved bay window that enjoys idyllic views across the beautifully landscaped garden. This inviting room features a fireplace, a dedicated dining area, twin storage cupboards, and a breakfast bar that provides an open connection to the kitchen. The kitchen is fitted with a comprehensive range of worktops and base and wall-mounted cupboards, with space for a range cooker and fridge freezer, plumbing for a washing machine, and direct access to the garden. An inner hallway leads to three generous double bedrooms. The impressive principal bedroom benefits from a well-appointed en-suite bathroom featuring both a bath and separate shower. The second bedroom also enjoys the convenience of an en-suite shower room, while a separate shower room serves the third bedroom. Stairs rise to the first floor, where a spacious loft room provides versatile additional accommodation. Currently used as an occasional guest room for visiting family and friends, it is complemented by its own cloakroom.

Living in Milford on Sea

Milford on Sea is currently a property hot spot. It is one of the last remaining seaside villages in Hampshire and is delightfully picturesque with a proper village green at its centre. This green is often the focus for popular village events such as maypole dancing and the annual food festival and is fringed by a range of independents (including antiques shops, butcher’s, chemists and greengrocer’s). Recently Milford has developed something of a reputation as a foodie destination with its collection of tea rooms, bistros, wine bar, fish and chips and specialist fish restaurant, plus more.

This is a vibrant village with a friendly and lively community, and appeals to both young families (the primary school has been rated ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted) and older couples looking for somewhere on the coast to relax. The old-fashioned seafront stretches from Hurst spit and Keyhaven nature reserve in the east towards Christchurch Harbour to the west, and enjoys lovely views across the Solent to the Isle of Wight and the Needles.

A good mix of properties includes striking contemporary seafront homes and cliff top apartments with big sea views, quaint terraced old fishermen’s cottages and some substantial 1920s and 1930s Ravenscroft arts and crafts influenced homes in and around Barnes Lane.
