Burley is where it all began for Spencers. We opened our first office in this quintessential New Forest village in 2006 and, nearly two decades on, we remain as rooted here as ever.
Rich in history and folklore and surrounded by breathtaking open forest, the village itself, with its bustling eccentricity, remains highly popular to both local buyers and those moving from the home counties, London and beyond. Burley is one of the New Forest’s most coveted addresses, with only around 700 properties in and around the village and we know the local market like the back of our hand.
Our Burley team covers a wide patch: Bransgore and the surrounding hamlets to the west, and Emery Down, Minstead, and Bramshaw to the east. Whether you’re searching for a thatched Forest cottage, a period farmhouse, an equestrian property with land, or a village house you can walk everywhere from, we’ve got the local knowledge to help.

Sitting in the heart of the New Forest, ponies and donkeys wander the lanes, the pub is always busy and the independent shops and cafes are enticing.
Despite its rural feel, Burley is far from cut off. There’s good road access to Bournemouth, Southampton and the wider South Coast. Brockenhurst, with its direct trains to London Waterloo, is just a short drive away. The village has a welcoming community and the New Forest’s equestrian culture runs through it, making it a significant draw for buyers looking for a property with paddocks or stabling.
With housing stock that won’t grow and a National Park designation ensuring it stays that way, Burley consistently attracts people who know exactly what they’re looking for.
You’ll find us at The Cross, right in the centre of the village. Parking is available nearby and Burley is easily reached from the A31. There’s no railway station in the village itself, but Brockenhurst, with direct trains to London Waterloo, Southampton and Bournemouth, is a short drive.
Buying in Burley means competing for a limited and genuinely desirable pool of homes: thatched Forest cottages, period farmhouses, equestrian properties and village houses that rarely come to market twice.
Our team has unrivalled knowledge of what’s available, what’s coming and how to move decisively when the right property appears. Whether you’re relocating to the New Forest, upsizing, or looking for a second home, we’re here to help.
Come and find us at The Cross, or get in touch to start your search.
Selling a home in Burley calls for an agent who understands its quirks and appeal. At Spencers, we’ve been at the heart of the local property market since we opened our Burley office in 2006. We know the buyers, the prices and the properties.
Our experienced team are renowned for their local expertise and our Burley office works in synergy with our growing network of offices across the New Forest, its coastline, the wider Hampshire and Dorset region and in London, providing access to the best local, national and international buyers in the market.

Rental properties in the New Forest are in strong demand, and Burley is no exception. Whether you want to experience village life before committing to a purchase, or you’re simply after a more peaceful pace for a while, our lettings team can match you with the right home, from cosy forest cottages to larger properties with outdoor space and easy access to the open Forest.
Pop into the office or give us a call to find out what’s currently available.
We are best placed to advise on letting your property in Burley. Demand consistently outpaces supply, and well-presented homes, particularly those with outdoor space or equestrian facilities, tend to let quickly.
We offer a fully managed service for landlords, from finding and referencing tenants to compliance and day-to-day management. Whether you’re new to letting or building a portfolio, give us a call or get in touch for a valuation.
With a housing stock that never grows and demand that never really fades, Burley is one of Hampshire’s most resilient markets.
Our team has been here since the start, and we’re ready to put nearly twenty years of local knowledge to work for you.

Director - New Homes
Karen began her career in new homes 20 years ago in Scotland with Countrywide Estate agents. After 4 years she relocated to Surrey and joined Spicerhaart Estate agents, working for 8 years alongside many National House builders in her role as Divisional Director. In 2018 she was then offered the role of Group Head of New Homes with Chancellors Estate Agents in which remained for six years. Following her relocation to the south coast, Karen worked for a year at Hoburne Group, in one of their holiday parks which she loved, however her heart has always been in new homes. When the New Homes Director opportunity arose with Spencers, Karen felt this was destiny as she loved the brand and company ethos. In her spare time, you will normally find Karen cycling through the New Forest, running along the beach or out having fun with her friends and family.
